Dam, Poppaea is out of a full sister to Argentan. Grandam Worms was a German Championship (DLG) class winner and overall vice champion. Poppaea's full sister, SPS Prinzessin Asta, is dam of SPS Fenjala, by Fabriano. In 2002, Fenjala added to her many past achievements at mare shows by earning the champion title in the 4- to 6-year old division at the prestigious Ratje Niebuhr-Schau.  

Poppaea produced a full sister to Gharbo named Ghin and Tonic. She was inspection site filly champion of 1999. Poppaea also produced a colt by Gold Luck in 2002 named Ghalileo. In 2001, Poppaea produced for Marefield Meadows the Fabriano son Fhinland, inspection site colt champion. Gharbo was inspection site champion filly in PA in 2000 as a foal. As a three year old, her inspection score was 7.0 with 8's for overall impression and development, neck and hindleg. She did the MPT as a green broke three year old at the same time and scored an overall 7.0 with an 8 for rideability.

Greta was inspected by the GOV in August, 2009, and she was placed in their main mare book with a 6.83, receiving an 8 for her breed and sex type.

This colt presented as a pretty bad dystocia and I was happy to have enough experience to get him out. He was born with very contracted knees and fetlocks and was unable to stand and nurse, even after we put casts on his legs. We bottle fed him for 24 hours, but Gharbo was becoming uninterested and her milk production was decreasing (we think she knew the colt had no chance), so we put him down.

Shepia is bred to be a TOP hunter prospect for someone. Although hunter breeding isn't my thing, I thought I'd give it a try since Gharbo has produced a top hunter already in Fhinancier. Watch the video:

Fhandango presented with a severe colic, most likely small intestine, on the morning of July 14. Pain meds did nothing and it was decided that surgery would be risky. He was put to sleep- it was the right decision.

Shtrapless is a three year old who is one of the farm favorites to ride. She is very consistent and quiet under saddle. She has done the GOV Mare Performance Test with good scores- a very tough test for a three year old. We showed her at some breed shows this year and she did quite well. At Dressage at Stone Tavern, August 31, 2014, she won the three year old fillies class. We then took her to Dressage at Devon 2014, where she placed 5th in the 3 year old fillies class, and 2nd in the three year old filly materiale. We think she would make a super mount for an amateur dressage rider, or perhaps she could follow in the footsteps of her successful half brother, Fhinancier, and shine in the hunter ring.
