Owned by:   Lyn Francik, Oklahoma

At the USDF/Mid-States Regional Finals at Silver Creek Farm in OK on September 8 & 9, Gholfer placed first in his 2 year old colts and geldings class at Silver Creek I. The following day, he won his class, and then was named reserve champion colt/gelding (qualifying him for the Mid States Regionals. He had already qualified for the Southern Regionals). At he finals, he was named USDF/GAIG Mid-States Reserve Grand Champion Colt/Gelding with a score of 81.1%! This may be the first dressage breeding show where both the colt and filly champions are by the same sire!

8/2007 Hi Mo, Here are links to two photos of Neo and I that were taken at the Evergreen Farm Dressage Schooling Show this past Sunday. We placed first riding Training Level Test 2 with a score of 69.3%. Even with 2 error points, due to me forgetting the test -- duh, we still came in first with a 3 point lead. Neo received three 8's -- two for his canter and one for the free walk. Under collective marks he received a 9 for gaits.

Gladstone  1999 Hanoverian Gelding
 sire  Gold Luck      dam  Waldgeist
Owned by:   Lyn Francik, Oklahoma

Hi Mo,
Here's hoping that your life hasn't been as crazy-busy as it has been at mine. Somehow, I doubt it, though, with mares & foals to prep for the Inspections coming up for you in a couple of weeks.

At any rate, I thought that you'd like to know that Gladstone and I have met our 3rd level goals: We're qualified for Regionals (don't know if I'll have the time, but I declared for Region 4, just in case. My final examination for the L program will be held at the Region 9 finals, so riding then won't be an option.) We have our 8 scores for USDF this year, and have enough scores to qualify for an Oklahoma award for 3rd level (It's a cumulative award, offered for each level, with at least - of the scores from the highest test.) We-ll debut at 4th level in August, with a goal of PSG by next spring.
After our success in Arkansas, I didn't think our next shows could top it. I was wrong. At the Briar Fox show (Doreen Horsey from Canada judging), we were not sensational, but our scores were all over 60% and were good enough to win the high-point at 3rd level. But our local ODS show was truly exceptional. Under Gail Hoff-Carmona we received a 66.67% for our first ride, which thrilled me. But when we did our second test, we got a 68.97%! I never dreamed an old amateur like me would ever get scores that high at 3rd level. Not only were our scores high enough to win both classes and 3rd level high point (and there were at least 7 or 8 different horses showing 3rd level) we were also the overall High Point Amateur at the show, which won us the Bob Pape Memorial Trophy. This was really a thrill, since (at least in our area) upper level rides never seem to score as high as Intro or Training, which until now, have always won this award. We also won the best Vintage rider, too, so it was truly an amazing show for us!

There isn't a day that goes by when Im not grateful for the day when I received the video on Gold Luck. Without him, I wouldn't have this wonderful horse who has helped me achieve heights I never though I'd reach.

I've attached a couple of pictures of Gladstone from the ODS show. As you can see, he's not only talented, but has become a beautiful and elegant dressage horse. I'll send you an update on the kids at their last DSHB show when the pictures arrive.
Lyn

Ghlimmer  2001 Hanoverian Mare
sire  Gold Luck      dam  Eden ("Ethel")
Owned by:   Sue Casale

Ghlimmer is a PACKER! She was ridden at the AHS inspection by 19 year old Lauren Casale. She received a 6.72 on inspection and in the MPT received a 6 and a 5 on her jumping (it was a bad day- she had been REALLY GOOD in the practice sessions), 7,7,8 in gaits and an 8 in rideability. Her owners report that Lauren can get on her back and ride her in the fields with just a halter and lead rope. She has been to a cross country schooling and a hunter show, where she takes everything in stride- a super mind for the amateur!!!!

Ghradine  2002 Hanoverian Mare
 sire  Gold Luck      dam  Eden
Owned by:   Carole Holiday, PA

At the LVDA recognized dressage Show on August 20, we met Carole who was riding Ghradine in some classes at training level. Although there were a few bobbles due to green horse and green amateur rider mistakes, the good parts were really beautiful to watch! I got a few photos of the two of them. Keep up the good work, Carole! At the AHS inspection held at RSF, Ghradine was presented for her mare inspection. She received an overall score of 7.05 with 8's for head, neck, frame, and typiness and femininity. In the MPT she was ridden by her amateur rider, and was a star. She lost her confidence in the free jumping chute due to greeness, and this really affected her score. In the jumping, she seceived a 5.5. Under saddle she looked lovely and very easy to ride. I thought these scores were a bit tough. Read Carole's letter below to know that a day in the life of this mare doesn't change her owner's high opinion of the rideability and gaits of this horse. She will continue to prove her worth over and over again to Carole Holiday daily and in the dressage ring.

Ghuatamala  2001 Hanoverian Mare
sire  Gold Luck      dam  EM Europa
Owned by:   Jacquie Kindred of Martin's Creek, PA

Ghuatamala made Jacquie's day by being named the high score mare at the RSF Hanoverian inspection on July 30, 2006. She received the very high overall score of 7.61, with 9's for head and neck, and 8's for typiness and femininity, impulsion and elasticity, and overall impression and development. All of her other scores were 7's. Jacquie intends to start training her to harness with the goal of combined driving. She has already been started under saddle. I hoope she decides to do the Mare Performance test with her some day. This is a super mare!

Sir Donnerhall filly out of a Loerke mare  2006 Oldenburg Foal
 sire  Sir Donnerhall      dam
Owned by:   Louise Rasco

Mo, I just wanted to let you know that my Sir Donnerhall filly out of my Loerke mare was presented to the GOV this past Monday. She was not only a premium filly but some of the judges comments included, " if this filly was in Germany she would be an Elite Foal Auction candidate", " she is among the top foal we have seen in Germany". You can just imagine that I am so proud of her, they also loved the mom.

I am now standing a German Riding Pony Stallion and having a ball with him. He'll be at the Dressage at Lexington show, perhaps I'll see you there. Thanks again for your advice.
Sincerely, Lou Rascoe, Longview Farm

Rhyan  2006 Hanoverian Gelding
sire  Royal Prince      dam  EM Hochkarat
Owned by:

FOR SALE We took Rhyan and Dhijon to a schooling dressage show on March 27, 2011 at the NJ Horse Park. They both won both of their classes. This was Rhyan's second show. He did First level test 1 and won with a 64.483%. He then did First Level test 2 and he won with a 66.622%. Here is the video of the show: Rhyan works on more collection 3-8-11 Rhyan recently offered half steps, and he is working on shoulder in, haunches in, simple changes and turns on the haunches. Everything he is asked to do, he does with a willing attitude. His walk is big and pure, his trot is free, expressive and well balanced, and his canter is rhythmic and ground covering. He likes to work, too. He will make a perfect amateur dressage horse horse or hunter.
