John rode Shakespeare in a Debbie McDonald clinic at Hassler Dressage (thank you for the invitation, Scott!). At that time, Debbie said she was really impressed with them both and so she invited John and Shakespeare to a training session held at the USEF Team Headquarters at Gladstone. The lessons were super. They worked on Tempi changes, passage, piaffe, working pirouettes and the good old basics of straightness and throughness. and Debbie said that Shakespeare has it all- and that he should be Grand Prix and competitive by 9 years old.
