I am a glutton for punishment, because the day after our GOV inspection, we went to a Dressage Sport Horse Breed Show at Bucks County Horse Park. It seemed like a good idea when I was filling out the entry form....
A very successful day, anyway! photos by Stephen Crowers Photography
We brought two foals and their dams. I entered Shilhouette and Fhlora, and Shwatch and EM Amulet. The competition was small and there were no other foals there, so Shilhouette and Shwatch won their classes, and then were champion and reserve in the Foal Championships, qualifying them both for Dressage at Devon in the East Coast Championships. They both received rave comments from a rather low scoring judge (a shame, since the percentage score is what is used to determine HOY standings). Fhlora won her broodmare class, was Mare Champion, Mature Horse Champion and Show Grand Champion. Amulet was second in the broodmare class, Reserve Mare Champion, and Reserve Mature Horse. They are now both also qualified for the championship at Devon.
