April 2013: Shuffleboard surprised us all at his spring evaluation of his gaits when free running. He showed us the gaits he had previously been hiding with his laid back disposition. He is a really good one!
This colt has a disposition that is quiet and easy- perfect for the amateur who isn't as adventurous with young horses as some others and we all know that three good gaits and a good mind can win ribbons for you in the show ring- more so than a fancy trot. Whitney always has made elastic movers with super walks and this colt is no exception. He is really an easy, elastic mover at the trot and canter with a super walk, like the 9 that Whitney received at her inspection. Shuffleboard will mature in the range of 16.2 hands or so.
Fall 2012:
Foal report: We came home from a three day horse show in VA where we brought 5 horses (read: lots of work). Whitney had this foal at 11:30 pm, so I stayed up for a few hours to make sure he did all the right things. Feeling rather old after all of this, Shuffleboard seemed an appropriate name. He is pretty, correct and very friendly- just like all the Shakespeare foals are.
SOLD!Congrats to Amy of NM!
Jan 2017: Lauren reports that Shuffleboard is doing super in FL and he is advancing quickly. See the new photo. New video:
December 2016: Shuffleboard is on consignment sale with Lauren Chumley in Loxahatchee, FL: Contact Lauren at (513) 265-7586 to try this wonderfully rideable, amateur friendly gelding.
Jan 29, 2016 after just one month under saddle:
Shuffleboard is a real Sweetie who, although being very green, comes out every day ready and willing to work. When the throughness, balance and half halts get better, he will excel!
Sept 16, 2016- Still working on balance, but so much improved!
