A Premium foal that I still think moves like she has FEI dressage ring potential

Fhifth Avenue is not a jumper, scoring 6.0 in that section of the MPT held on Sept. 10, 2011. She scored an 8 for her free trot, and perhaps was a bit tired for the under saddle portion. I am going with my gut feeling here and keeping her in training for the Young Horse classes next year. If she gain some condition I think we'll see that powerful movement she ALWAYS showed as a foal. That's one of the problems presenting them at three for the MPT- sometimes they just need a bit more time to develop.

Premium foal at the GOV inspection with high praise. Foal report: This is one of the best movers I have ever bred. She lifts her front end up with a free shoulder and super activity behind. She looks and moves like a big ring dressage horse with passage and piaffe built in. Fhifth Avenue has had quite a time of it. She had major abdominal surgey for an infected umbilicus and then had two joints flushed to prevent infection. She has recovered completely- the joints are clean and perfect. She has a little hernia at the midline incision site. Her sire is Farewell III. He has been winning now in the international dressage ring at the Grand Prix level. There are stallions that have a good walk and there are stallions that have a very good walk - and then there's Farewell III! When he starts to move, then you know why the Florestan line, and particularly the branch through the former Bundeschampion, Fidermark, who was trained up to Grand Prix, is esteemed so highly. His gaits, which are outstanding, earned him the title of Vice Bundeschampion when he was just three years old. In the following year, under Sandra Kötter, he competed in the finals after leaving all of his cohorts in the warm up test behind and finished on 4th place. In 2005, when he was five years old, he took 3rd place in the final qualification in the class for five year olds in Warendorf. These achievements were preceeded by uncountable first and other places in novice and elementary level dressage tests with scores up to 8.8. Birth report: After Fhifth Avenue was born, we could see why it looked like Fhrance was ready to foal any minute for days. She is REALLY tall with long, correct legs that go on forever. She has a beautiful frame and shoulder. I am surprised she is 1. chestnut and 2. so tall. Well worth the wait. Fhrance will be happy to get outside. She had been restricted to her stall for a few days to avoid dripping prescious colostrum. Her movement is unbelievable!

SOLD! Congratulations to Kristen Schwaegerle of NH!

Inspection and Show Results

Fhifth Avenue was shown in the spring this year with mixed results. In my opinion, this is not a horse that will do well in training level, even though scoring up to 67%. She is too naturally uphill. I still contend that she is an FEI horse in the making. I expect to see the passage and piaffe that she demonstrated all the time as a foal come back as she strengthens and matures. Here is a recent video:

Owner Comments

Stella is fabulous, as always. I lucked out and was able to ride with Herr Schumacher five times over the course of a week (two locations), and he is very complimentary of her, saying something to the effect that her training is right on target, and there is nothing wrong (no "holes" to fix or other issues) at this time, and he thinks that if she stays on course, could be PSG by the end of the coming year. Very exciting. He actually hopes/wishes we could come work with him daily in Germany, as do I, although I'm not sure it is in the cards at the moment... I have some video from the clinic of her too - if I can stay awake past 8, I will get to task on it. Stella also greatly impressed the audience (they thought she must be 17.3hh and imported; "she moves and articulates through her whole body!"). Best, Kristen

May 2012 I want to convey to you just how much we have enjoyed getting to know you, and appreciate the lovely horses we've gotten through you. Kristen tends to be pretty understated, but she feels a strong connection with Stella (Fhifth Avenue), and daily expresses how "lucky she feels to have her". Melanie (Whorking Girl) is a sweetie who has settled right in as Stella's best friend, and you may have heard that I am over the moon with Pheobe (Fhrisbee) who makes me feel happy every time I see her. I am enjoying her every day, while excited to see what the future will bring. Best wishes to both of you - Sonya
