The first foal of the season! Sold to Jennifer Mutchjler who has ridden and raves about his two full brothers- Ghalleon and Ghulliver

Congratulations to Jennifer Mutchler who loved riding Ghalleon and Ghulliver so much that she bought their full brother Ghoodfella and the dam, too! Birth report: I was away until Monday scribing at the Palm Beach Dressage Derby in FL. It was so nice of Chita to wait until I returned to have her foal. He is very tall and substantial and looks a lot like Ghalleon and Ghulliver did at this age. I'll post more photos when he has unfolded. This one is from Quinnton's cell phone. 

Well, at 2 1/2 weeks old, I can finally say that I think Ghoodfella is A-OK. Chita stepped on his left hock and this caused a big abrasion. Then he came in from the pasture with a really swollen hock and he was lame on it. Plus, his navel was not so nifty looking- a little weepy and a small amount of puss on the end. RED ALERT! He had his hock tapped (no signs of infection) and he was put on heavy duty antibiotics via catheter. We hoped the abrasion was the red herring and it turns out to have been. He still has a nasty scab on the hock, his navel has dried up and gotten smaller and the little guy appears to be 100%- bucking and playing up a storm. He has been a real trooper and loves people despite all he's been through. PHEW!

Hi Mo, Well, I am totally enamored with Chita and Fella...she is just a doll, and Fella...well he is the cutest ever. He loves to lay his head in my lap and sleep! The hock is looking better...I am trying to get him off of antibiotics but it keeps swelling and oozing a bit, so put him back on. I'm sure it will be fine in a few weeks. I've attached two pics...their socks are dirty, but kind of cute pic :) So sorry about Regalia's foal...that is heartbreaking when you try so hard to save one. Take care, Jennifer
