Sadly we received word in early February 2002 from Louise Rascoe that Rolling Stone Farm's foundation mare, Roseanna (real name Adelblume) died from a twisted small intestine (at least they think). I cried all day. She went without suffering and was surrounded by loving people.
I bought Roseanna when she was 8 years old - she was the first Hanoverian I owned. She was 24 years old this year and died with a chestnut Gold Luck filly with a blaze and one sock behind. She was the mother of the earth type, and leaves behind a legacy of daughters, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I loved her dearly.
Roseanna was an overall "8" at her inspection and received a second place at Dressage at Devon in the Produce of Dam class. She had been an excellent producer. All of her fillies have qualified for Elite Mare status, and her 2 yr. old filly won her class at the MAHB Hanoverian Mare Show in 1998. One of her colts was designated a stallion prospect by the German Hanoverian Verband inspector, and another was among our stallion prospects.
Condolences to Louise who was certainly looking forward to her foal.
