Well, I should never go off the farm to shop for gifts. Last year, Rheporter was born while I was shopping for my son's graduation gift.
This year I went off the farm for just an hour or two to get Jim a birthday gift, and my pager for the birth alarm rang just as I was picking out the gift. I rushed home to find that Tiffany has perfected her midwife skills. It's a filly! The theme for this year is an easy one for me (I need all the easy things in a year with 25 foals coming!) I have decided to just use people names. This one is named Ghidgette at Tiffany's suggestion and it fits her just fine. She is bay with a star and a snip high on her nose and two hind socks. She looked a little like a surfer girl when she was on her legs for the first time. She is very correct with a beautiful laid back shoulder.
We turned Ghidgette out in the indoor today (at 4 days old) and she jumped over a 2' high rail that was set up not once, but three times!! She was just following mom, but it didn't faze her a bit. Good form! Just like her big sisters Ghamma Ray (2005 AHS Benchmark Jumping Award co-winner) and Ghenoa. Quite a trio of jumping girls this combination has produced! |
