Somer Hit, bred by us and named Sheldon, was licensed by the American Hanoverian Society this year. He is really a 4th generation product from mares I have had at Rolling Stone Farm. My good friend, Jeanie Poindexter leased her mare, Eden (by Eisenherz) to me. Years earlier I had bought Eden's daughter, Alure, from Jeanie as a two year old for my broodmare band. Eden had two foals for me before she passed away. Alure produced Elite Mare Rhussia, who is the dam of Somer Hit.
Somer Hit showed three very good gaits under saddle, ridden by his owner, Alice Tarjan. He was also a star in the free jump chute.
Our RSF employee, Quinnten Alston was the handler, working under the direction of his mentor, Bob Orton.
Somer Hit went to the US Young Horse Championships a few weeks later, where he placed 4th in the Four Year Olds. This is the second time one of my homebreds placed in the top 4 at this championship (Ghambade was the first one)
