Stallion Foal Lists

Tributes

Hopefully this will be the least updated page on our entire site, but we wanted to have a place to honor the memories of some special RSF horses lost recently. We miss them all very much, and send condolences to their owners for those who had moved on to new homes.

EM Rhwanda 2009 foal
2009 Oldenburg Filly
sire
 Shakespeare RSF
dam
 EM Rhwanda Rotspon/Gibraleon
This filly was found in the stall in the morning. Rhwanda gave no signs that she was close to delivering- none! The filly was born with a knee deformity and probably had a shoulder problem, too. She was unable to stand and did not have the will to live. Jim and I bottle fed her for two days until it was really obvious that this filly would not have a chance at life. We sadly decided to put her down. RIP, sweet baby...

EM Ghlycerine (2002-2007)
2002 Hanoverian Mare
sire
 Gold Luck
dam
 EM Whispre (Weltmeyer/Brentano II)
At our AHS inspection, Ghlycerine was shown in the Mare Performance Test by her amateur owner. Despite an average jumping ability (2 6's), she received an overall score of 7.11 with 8's for canter and rideability. She has an ET foal coming by Pablo, so hopefully next year she will become an Elite Mare. Congrats to Kris!
Heartfelt sympathies to Kris Schuler of Fleetwood, PA on the loss of this outstanding mare.

Whasabi (the first one)
2007 Hanoverian Colt
sire
 Welcome S
dam
 EM Alectra Armin/Akzent II
Whasabi got an infection in his shoulder joint, despite having an excellent IgG. I took him immediately to my friends at Mid Atlantic Equine Clinic in Ringoes, NJ. Despite three surgeries to drain and clean out the joint, and despite long term antibiotics and intensive nursing care, it was obvious that he was more and more in pain. I had the joint x rayed one last time. The infection had gone into the bone. He was humanely destroyed at one month old on 6/5. He was a sweetie through the whole thing. It broke my heart, but it was the only thing to do. We miss him terribly.

Dhessert
2007 Hanoverian Colt
sire
 Don Frederico
dam
 EM Reynah Rienzi/Wallstreet Kid
This foal was sick from the start with immature lungs and general weakness. I bottle fed him, but he was very critically sick. He survived for 24 hours.

Phillip (2006)
2006 Hanoverian Colt
sire
 Palladium
dam
 EM Whitney Q (Weltbekannt/Leibniz/Bolero/Wendekreis)
On 9/20, Kristen made the decision to put Phillip down. He had been plagued with the worst hoof abscess any of us had seen. Even with antibiotics and lancing it twice , it continued to make him lame and the swelling around his coronet band was huge. He was in a lot of pain, but still continued to be his playful self, making us laugh every day. It was finally x rayed, where it was revealed to be a coffin bone abscess. There was no other decision to make. We will all miss his funny face and friendly personality.
Our sympathies to Kristen Zawatski

Dhanielle (2006)
2006 Hanoverian Filly
sire
 De Laurentis
dam
 EM Fhrance (Fabriano-SPS Wunschkind/Wonderful)
Dhanielle developed neurologic problems that was probably due to neck trauma that happened when she was kicked, plus she had gotten lethargic and "not quite right". She was put down on Sept 8th. We will miss her sweet face and her friendly greetings.

sire
 Gold Luck

Don Giovanni (2002-2004)
2002 Hanoverian Colt
sire
 Don Frederico
dam
 SPS Scarlett (Sherlock Holmes/Weltmeyer)
Another really tough one. One of our best stallion prospects. Donny was euthanized in late May after developing neurological symptoms. Two sets of tests for West Nile and EPM were both negative so we can only assume it was Wobblers although he was not the typical fast-growing, long neck type that it often strikes.

Ethel and colt (2004)
Hanoverian Mare
sire
 Eisenherz
dam
  (Smargd/Duft I/Maigraf xx)
Ethel (Eisenherz/Smargd/Duft I/Maigraf xx) finally went into labor Thursday at 10:30 pm. It was going WAY too slowly. I determined she was presenting a breech birth (hind feet first) and called Dr Balliet. He and Jim and I tried pulling, but got only the legs out to mid cannon. Baby (by Gold Luck) was dead by now; the rush was on to save Ethel.

Ghin and Tonic "Ghinny" (1999-2003)
1999 Hanoverian Mare
sire
 Gold Luck
dam
 Poppaea (Prince Orac xx)
Unfortunately, 2003 started off on a sad note for us, as we lost the lovely four-year-old Gold Luck daughter, Ghin and Tonic, to cancer just after New Year's.

Rhedford "Robert" (1999-2002)
1999 Colt
sire
 Rienzi
dam
 Adelblume (Adlerblick)
Robert was badly injured in a pasture accident at the end of September, and was euthanized a few weeks later when it became apparent that he would not recover. He was one of our best stallion prospects, and the son of our foundation mare, Adelblume, who also passed away this year.

Adelblume "Roseanna" (1978-2002)
1978 Hanoverian Mare
sire
 Adlerblick
dam

Sadly we received word in early February 2002 from Louise Rascoe that Rolling Stone Farm's foundation mare, Roseanna (real name Adelblume) died from a twisted small intestine (at least they think). I cried all day. She went without suffering and was surrounded by loving people.

Ghulliver's Travels
2004 Hanoverian Gelding
sire
 Gold Luck
dam
 Whichita (Waltzertraum/Adlerblick/Einglas/Jonkeer xx)
Ghulliver was humanely destroyed after symptoms of Wobblers increased. The best they can determine, the injury was a result of a trailering accident where he was thrown forward and had hit the window in the front of the trailer. We are so sad to hear this about such a special horse. Our condolences to his owner, Bob and to his trainer, Jennifer.
SOLD! Congratulations to Robert Askew

Lhicorice
2007 Hanoverian Colt
sire
 Loerke
dam
 Whichcraft Wallstreet Kid/ Gold Luck
This baby was just not right from the beginning. His birth was normal, but he was very slow to stand and nurse, and was lethargic. He had a suck and could stand, and did nurse, so I ruled out Dummy foal symdrome. He diodn't have a fever. But my gut instinct said he was just not right. He died after 24 hours with out peeing or pooping. Perhaps something was wrong internally... He crashed fast, and didn't seem to suffer. Poor baby. Whichcraft took it well. She never really bonded with him. She was super maiden mom, though, and did everything she could to make it easy for this weak foal to nurse.

2008 Hanoverian Filly
sire
 Loerke
dam
 EM Dhewpoint DiCaprio/SPS Monty
Unfortunately, Lhollipop was humanely destroyed after a severe hock infection and a colitis from the strong antibiotics she was given.

Ghibralter "Rocky"
2003 Hanoverian Gelding
sire
 Gold Luck
dam
 EM Whitney Q (Weltbekannt/Leibniz/Bolero/Wendekreis)
"Rocky" is a 16.1 hand bay gelding with a blaze (beautiful head!) and 4 white socks. Looks to have a HUGE stride. Very handsome. Full siblings have shown promise under saddle and have had much success in the breed shows. A Rolling Stone Farm homebred, he is by Gold Luck out of Elite Mare Whitney Q.
SOLD! Congratulations to Jocelyn Mitchell of New Tripoli, PA!
