Videos are up of the foals and Jim and I are still married after videotaping 24 foals

On the website are videos of the foals at the GOV inspection where we received an unbelievable 22 Premium Foal awards out of 24 foals presented. The judges were from Germany, and they said it would be unbelievable even in Germany to have this many Premiums from one farm. They commented (as I have) on the consistancy of the foals by Shakespeare and they were pleased to see very good quality from the first Fhitzgerald foals. Especially noted were their very good walks. There is also video from the round pen at home where the other big news is that Jim and I are still talking to each other. Have you ever tried to video foals? It can be really stressful! They never cooperate fully and show everything they are capable of. It is hard not to swear out loud or take out your frustrations on your spouse!

Somer hit was licensed by the AHS at Hilltop Farm this year, and then Alice and he travelled to the Young Horse Championships at Lamplight where they placed 4th. This is the second approved stallion I have bred, and the second time that one of my homebreds placed in the top 4 at the Young Horse Championships!

Hhors d' Oeuvre  2007 Oldenburg Filly
sire  His Highness      dam  EM Whallis Blue
Owned by:

Hhors is a dream to ride even though she is just green broke. Beth had NO problems and everything that is asked of her, she does like she wants so bad to please. Easy, easy, easy! Not so tall- perfect for the smaller amateur rider or breed her because of her rare bloodlines.

Nice emails from happy clients

I sold Lharamie to a most wonderful person, Tonya Kuizenga. She and her friend, Kathy made a marathion road trip with their horse trailer and ended up taking Lharamie home after an impromptu pre purchase exam. You can read Tonya's email under Lharamie in the yearlings section, but here is what her friend Kathy wrote:

Fhitzgerald  2004 Oldenburg Stallion

We took Fhitzgerald and Shakespeare to a schooling show all the way down in VA at Morven Park in Leesburg, VA on Sunday 3/21. We went down and back in one day- a long day of driving! It was both Fhitzgerald's and Shakespeare's first dressage show and the first time in a dressage ring with a low fence (our outside ring at home is a regular sized dressage ring, but it has a high fence around it). Both boys were fabulous- well behaved and really impressive in the show ring under John's capable and talented riding. Fhitzgerald was second in First Level, test 3 with a 66.857% (includes one error of course- John knows the German tests but needs to learn the American ones). He was first in First Level, test 4 with a 71.579%. He received an 8 for gaits in both tests. What a super star- not bad results for his first ever dressage show!
Go to his website page to see his videos and I will try and post some from the show soon.

Lhoretta  2006 Hanoverian Mare
 sire  Loerke      dam  Whichita
Owned by:

Lhoretta is going under saddle and she is one of those horses who moves great in hand, but then improves so much more under saddle. Her gaits under saddle are amazing. In August, she was presented to the GOV and placed in their main mare book with a score of 7.25. She received 8 for general impression, and 7.5's for breed and sex type, and the trot.

Reggie is being broke to saddle right now and she shows intelligence, a quiet, volunteer attitude and wonderful gaits. Reggie was presented to the GOV on August 6, 2009, and she was placed into the main mare book with a very high score of 7.67. She received 8's for breed and sex type, trot, walk and general impression. We are looking forward to her 2010 foal by Welcome S! Video under saddle:

Shirlene is unbeleivably fancy under saddle. Her trot is really spectacular. She is a forward thinking horse, and is really good to ride because of this. She has a good work ethic, too. Video under saddle:

My good friend, Marjukka Karki brought this newspaper article from the Holland. This mare, bred by De Havikerwaard in De Steeg was the winner of the IBOP test in Brummen, Netherlands. She received the very high score of 84.5 points with an 8.5 for the conformation and a 9 for the canter. We are looking forward to starting our own first Welcome S foals under saddle in 2010!

The early snow fall (which was beautiful!) has put us all in the holiday mood. Jim and I would like to wish all of our family, friends and clients a happy, healthy holiday season. We leave tomorrow for the final days of the stallion 70 day test in Oklahoma, where Shakespeare and Fhitzgerald are hopefully doing well. Wish us luck!

Ghlenlivet  1999 Hanoverian Gelding
 sire  Gold Luck      dam  Piper
Owned by:   Nancy Lewis Stanton

At the Region 1 Fenals in Lexington, VA, Ghlen was second in the PSG 2010 GAIG and BLM qualifying class with an amazing score of 68.553%. In his 2009 championship class, he was, unfortunately out of the ribbons. I had heard the indoor ring bothered a lot of horses. Perhaps this was the case....
